Karely Ghosht

A classic Pakistani dish! Here's a simple recipe for Karely Gosht (Bitter Melon and Meat Curry) in English: Ingredients - 250g bitter melon (karela), sliced - 1 pound lamb or beef, cut into small pieces - 2 medium onions, chopped - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon ginger paste - 1 teaspoon cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon coriander powder - 1 teaspoon turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon red chili powder - Salt, to taste - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons tomato puree - 1 cup water - Fresh cilantro, for garnish Instructions 1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. 2. Add chopped onions and cook until they're translucent. 3. Add garlic and ginger paste. Cook for 1 minute. 4. Add lamb or beef pieces and cook until they're browned. 5. Add bitter melon slices and cook for 5 minutes. 6. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well. 7. Add tomato puree and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the meat is tender. 8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with naan or rice. Tips - Use a mixture of lamb and beef for a richer flavor. - Adjust the amount of red chili powder to suit your desired level of spiciness. - You can also add potatoes or other vegetables to the curry if you prefer. - Karely Gosht is a traditional Pakistani dish, often served at special occasions.
