 A flavorful and comforting tea from the Kashmir region! Here's a simple recipe for Kashmiri Tea,



Ingredients

- 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea (Kashmiri or Darjeeling work well)

- 1 teaspoon grated ginger

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

- 1/4 teaspoon ground saffron threads (optional, for color and flavor)

- 1 cup water

- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond or soy milk)

- Honey or sugar, to taste

- Chopped nuts or dried fruit, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.

2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let it steep for 5-7 minutes.

3. Add the loose-leaf tea to the saucepan and let it steep for an additional 2-3 minutes.

4. Strain the tea mixture into a large mug or teapot.

5. Add the milk and stir to combine.

6. If using saffron, add it to the tea and let it steep for a minute or two, until the color and flavor are infused.

7. Add honey or sugar to taste, then garnish with chopped nuts or dried fruit, if desired.
