Spicy Chicken Sajji

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken legs or thighs, cut into large pieces
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons ginger paste
- 2 tablespoons garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped (optional)
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off.
5. Grill the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
6. While the chicken is grilling, heat oil in a small pan over medium heat.
7. Add chopped green chilies (if using) and sauté for 1 minute.
8. Serve the grilled chicken with the spicy green chili sauce spooned over the top.
9. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with naan, rice, or roti.
